The Client had approached us with the problem of moving the heavy (700Kg) swing arm of the machine. The cycle time of the product being around 3 minutes, the operator had to move the machine swing arm for unloading of finished components and loading of raw components. This resulted in heavy fatigue and production losses. Our team of experts came up with a unique solution to rotate the swing arm without modifying the basic structure of the machine. The beauty of the system lies that the system can be shifted back to manual swinging with release of a cotter pin in case of future maintenance work. Despite having its inbuilt Design & Automation Team, they outsourced our services. The German machine was of the make 1970’s and was imported in India in the year 2011.
We developed an air-based distance measuring system for specific client need. It took us around 10-11 months of research, study, and trials for successfully offering a value for money solution for our client. The system detects the distance of up-to 0.4mm and magnifies it by 700 units. The operator can set the upper and lower limits. The system gives an alarm if the system crosses its set limits. This sensor finds its applications for measuring long cylindrical bores, quality control departments and grinding / honing applications.
